On the "Trail mountains and mines"
A beautiful trip for next Sunday ... along old mining roads of St. Benedict and Malacalzetta
Sella Well Association, in cooperation with the United Association for San Benedetto, A.MI.ME., Geominerario Park, Green Blue Sugar Loaf, CISS, Pro Loco Iglesias, Iglesias AGESCI Group 3 and the consultation of the Geo-mining Park Consortium, at the conclusion of the free labor of many volunteers who made it possible to retrieve and make available the old trails used by miners to go to work and old ways of transportation of minerals, organized the inaugural excursion on the main roads of St. Benedict and mining Malacalzetta were included in a new location named "Path mountains and mines." The restoration work of the trail and hiking inaugural

09.00: Meet in the square of the mining village of San Benedetto, which also belongs to Iglesias, with recording of participants and presentation the "Path mountains and mines" - 09.30 hrs: Departure of the excursion - 13.00:
Return to the main square of San Benedetto where it can be consumed in the meal sack by the participants. For those who want to take advantage of it is noted that near the square of St. Benedict will be sold by local actors and without any commitment for the organizers, sandwiches, drinks and other foodstuffs. Please note also that for the occasion will advance to the 08:30 am celebration of Sunday Mass in the church of San Benedetto.
Lungo il percorso si effettueranno delle soste per illustrare ai partecipanti gli aspetti archeologici, geominerari e ambientali del luogo con particolare riferimento alle domus de janas e alle strutture del trasporto del minerale (pozzi, ferrovia e piani inclinati) attraverso le quali si potranno conoscere le tracce e le testimonianze della presenza dell’uomo in questo territorio, dalla preistoria fino ai nostri giorni.
Il tracciato di questa prima escursione è agevolmente percorribile anche da escursionisti non esperti purchè muniti di scarpe da trekking; verrà proposta successivamente una seconda escursione lungo un tracciato very beautiful but very challenging and scenic beauty, reserved for hikers good experience.
